Georgian’s inflation slipped to -2.2% year on year in March, a second consecutive month of annual deflation, the state statistics office, Geostat, said on April 3.

Prices dipped by 0.2% on monthly basis in March after 0.2% month on month inflation in February.

Georgia’s annual inflation rate slid into deflation for the first time in thirty months in February to -2.1%.

Annual food inflation dipped to a negative 7.5% and prices on communication services declined by 7.7% y/y in March.

Fuel and transportation prices, however, keep rising. Fuel prices increased 2.8% month on month in March, according to Geostat. The most recent increase in fuel price in Georgia was reported on April 3.
