Saakashvili: 'We Should Win Very Decisively'
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 21 Aug.'12 / 01:12

President Saakashvili said on Monday that he had no doubts that his ruling United National Movement would win in the October 1 parliamentary elections and added that this victory should be very decisive.

"I have no doubt whatsoever that we will win - I am not even thinking about it," he said at a campaign rally while naming state minister for Euro-Atlantic integration, Giorgi Baramidze, as UNM's majoritarian MP candidate for Batumi on August 20.

"But we should win not just ordinarily, we should win very decisively. Of course our external impure adversary and its local stooges... will be defeated, but they have other plans - they are not preparing for elections; they are preparing for post-election developments," he said..

"So I want to tell everyone that we should win these elections so decisively that not to even make them think of doing something with thier impure hands," Saakashvili added.

He also said that in the upcoming elections Georgia was facing a question: "What do we prefer: destruction or construction?"

"We have built out of ruins a real building, which is not yet completed and those who want to again turn this building into ruins, they have nothing to do in Georgia," he said.
