Environment Minister Resigns to Run for MP

Minister of Environment Protection, Goga Khachidze, has resigned to run for MP seat in the October 1 parliamentary election.

Khachidze is number thirty two in the ruling party United National Movement’s list of MP candidates.

Giorgi Zedginidze, who served as deputy environment minister since 2009, has replaced Khachidze.

Two other ministers who have resigned recently to run for Parliament are Giorgi Baramidze, ex-state minister for Euro-Atlantic integration, and Ramaz Nikolaishvili, ex-minister of regional development and infrastructure.
