President Saakashvili cast ballot the parliamentary elections in one of the Tbilisi’s polling stations on Monday morning and said that “fate of our statehood is being decided”.

Saakashvili, who came at the polling station with wife and six-year old son, said that it was “a really a historic day for Georgia.”

“In the decisive moments our people have always been making a right decision,” Saakashvili said. “This is of course an important moment for our nation, for our multi-ethnic society.”

“This choice will affect not only the current generation, but many future generations as well. I am sure there will be a high voter turnout today,” Saakashvili said.

“Georgia – and I am not speaking about victory of political parties – Georgia will definitely win,” he added.
