Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 19 Oct.'12 / 11:59

President Saakashvili arrived back to Georgia from Bucharest, where he participated in the congress of European People’s Party, in early hours of October 19, later than scheduled because of “technical problems” discovered with his plane, according to the President’s administration.

Late on Thursday night the President’s administration reported that 10 minutes after taking off, the president’s plane “had to make an emergency landing in the airport in Bucharest.”

“The reason was technical problems with the plane, in particular related to chassis,” the statement on the President’s website said.

About four hours later a statement was posted on the President’s official Facebook page, reading that President Saakashvili retuned back to Georgia at 2am local time on October 19.
