Merabishvili Arrives for Police Questioning

Vano Merabishvili, secretary general of UNM party and former prime minister, arrived on Saturday evening at the Interior Ministry’s investigative unit where he was summoned for questioning.

The Interior Ministry said that investigation was launched into alleged use of a fake passport by Merabishvili on November 30.

“I want to tell Ivanishvili and his party that it won’t be able to scare our team with threats, blackmailing, interrogations, arrests and it won’t make us to give up struggle for Georgia,” Merabishvili told journalists before entering the Interior Ministry’s investigative unit’s headquarters in Tbilisi.

“I and my friends will continue struggle for Georgia; we will not tremble. I am ready to arrive anywhere and answer any question and at the same time to continue struggle for Georgia,” Merabishvili added.
