Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 6 Feb.'13 / 18:34

A majoritarian MP from Gardabani single-mandate constituency Giorgi Peikrishvili has quit the United National Movement parliamentary minority group.

Peikrishvili is an eleventh lawmaker, who has quit UNM since the October 1, 2012 parliamentary elections.

As a result UNM, which won 65 seats in the Parliament, now has 54 members in the 150-seat legislative body.

MP Peikrishvili’s decision to quit UNM was anticipated as he was among those 91 lawmakers, who voted in favor of overriding presidential veto on amnesty bill in late December.
