Geostat Releases January Foreign Trade Preliminary Data

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover was USD 665 million in January, a 1% year-on-year increase, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on Monday.

There was a 25.1% y/y increase in export, which reached USD 196.3 million in January; but imports declined by 6.4% y/y in January to USD 468.4 million; trade gap was USD 272.1 million, a 20.9% y/y decline, according to preliminary data.

Geostat will release detailed figures of foreign trade for January next week.
