PACE Monitors Visit Georgia

Co-rapporteurs from Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on honouring Georgia’s obligations are paying a fact-finding visit to the country on April 8-11.

The two co-rapporteurs, Michael Aastrup Jensen of Denmark and Boriss Cilevičs of Latvia will meet President Saakashvili; PM Ivanishvili; parliament speaker Davit Usupashvili; Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani; State Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili; First Depty Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani; PM’s special representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Supreme Court Chairman Kote Kublashvili. Meetings with lawmakers, as well as civil society representatives are also planned.

PACE co-rapporteurs will also visit Samtskhe-Javakheti region, where they will meet the local authorities and minority representatives.
