Turkish Press: Saakashvili Breaks Arm in Bicycle Accident in Turkey

The Turkish press is reporting on Monday that President Saakashvili broke his arm while riding a bicycle in Istanbul.

The Hürriyet Daily News reported that the accident occurred on April 7.

Today’s Zaman reported that President Saakashvili, who was taken to hospital for treatment, had to delay his meetings scheduled for Monday.

There has not yet been either confirmation or denial of the reports from official Georgian sources.

Saakashvili, who met Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on April 6, was also planning a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gül in Ankara.
