Georgian, Iranian FMs Meet at UN

Georgian Foreign Minister, Maia Panjikidze, met her Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, on the sideline of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23.

“There are a lot of Iranians interested with Georgia, not only in terms of tourism, but also in terms of doing business. It was a meeting to get to know each other, because Mr. Zarif has been appointed on this post just recently,” Panjikidze said.

Also on the sideline of the UN General Assembly, the Georgian Foreign Minister met Foreign Minister of Colombia Maria Angela Holguin and Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić.

Panjikidze also met her counterparts from Lesotho Mohlabi Kenneth Tsekoa with whom she signed an agreement on establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

She also met foreign ministers of Grenada; Honduras; Fiji; as well as the President of Kiribati.
