Georgian State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Alexi Petriashvili, met with the NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, in Brussels on November 27.

Accompanied by deputy foreign minister, Davit Zalkaliani, Petriashvili also participated in a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission.
 
NATO Secretary General’s special representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai said that during the meeting with North Atlantic Council, the Georgian State Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister “made strong cases for a clear and unambiguous path for Georgia into NATO, based on Georgia's progress and ongoing reform.”

“They heard a lot of congratulations around the table for all the recent progress, and strong commitments to Georgia's territorial integrity -- including when it comes to ‘borderization’ by Russians - as well as to Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration. In that regard, Georgia's initialing of the Association Agreement with the EU is an important step in making Georgia's Euro-Atlantic path irreversible,” Appathurai wrote on his Facebook page on November 28.
