President to Deliver Annual Address in Parliament

President Giorgi Margvelashvili will deliver his first annual address in the Parliament on February 21.

According to president’s aides in his speech Margvelashvili will touch upon “all the issues that are topical” now in Georgia and will lay out his vision over country’s future development, foreign policy, defense and security.
 
The President, whose powers were significantly cut under the new constitution at the expense of increasing Prime Minister’s authority, will start his address at 2pm on Friday.

His address will be followed with debates, involving speeches by lawmakers and parliament speaker Davit Usupashvili; the President will then make his closing remarks.
