Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili has started a week-long visit to the United States “upon invitation of the U.S. Vice President Joe Biden,” PM’s office said on Sunday.

“Meetings in the White House, as well as talks with the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are planned,” the Georgian PM’s office said.

It said that PM Garibashvili and Secretary of State John Kerry will address a meeting of Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington to discuss cooperation in frames of Charter on Strategic Partnership signed between the two countries in January, 2009.

During the visit which will last till February 28, the Georgian PM will also meet members of Senate and House of Representatives, as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Daniel Yohannes.

On February 25 the Georgian PM will speak at an event hosted by a Washington-based think-tank Atlantic Council and on February 27 he will address an audience in the Harriman Institute at Columbia University.

PM is accompanied by Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze; Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili, as well as head of the Georgian National Investment Agency Giorgi Pertaia.
