Georgia’s PM Irakli Garibashvili will participate in the nuclear security summit in The Hague on March 24-25.

Georgian officials suggested on March 10 that a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama on the sideline of the summit is not ruled out. Georgian PM’s press office made public on Monday U.S. President’s letter to PM Garibashvili expressing appreciation for Georgia’s “partnership in efforts to thwart nuclear smuggling” in the region.

Summit in The Hague will be the third such event; the inaugural nuclear security summit was hosted by President Obama in Washington in April 2010 and the second one was held in Seoul in 2012 – then Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili participated in both of them.

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and Minister of Environment Protection Khatuna Gogaladze will accompany PM Garibashvili at the summit in The Hague.
