UN Human Rights Chief Visits Georgia

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay is visiting Georgia on May 18-22 to discuss the human rights situation in the country.

She will be meeting President Giorgi Margvelashvili; PM Irakli Garibashvili, as well as other senior government officials and parliament speaker Davit Usupashvili. UN human rights chief will also hold discussions with Supreme Court chairman Kote Kublashvili, Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili, as well as with civil society representatives and members of the international community in Tbilisi.

During the visit, she will also visit a settlement for internally displaced persons and the administrative boundary line with breakaway South Ossetia.
