Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia said that it “recognized Luhansk People's Republic as a sovereign independent state.” South Ossetia, which is recognized by Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Nauru, said that its leader Leonid Tibilov signed a decree on June 18 after an appeal from “Supreme Council of Luhansk People’s Republic”, Tskhinvali-based news agency, RES, reported. The Ukrainian authorities consider self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics as “terrorist organizations”. |
