Georgian Leaders Congratulate Erdogan on Election Victory

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and PM Irakli Garibashvili congratulated Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the victory in Turkey's first direct presidential election.
 
“I am glad that the Republic of Turkey, which is Georgia’s friend and close partner, is developing successfully under your leadership and it has been reflected in the election results,” President Margvelashvili said in his message of congratulation.

“I am confident that our close cooperation, which is based on principles of mutual support and friendship, will continue in the future as well for the benefit of Georgia and Turkey,” the Georgian President said.

PM Garibashvili said in his message of congratulation: “This election has reiterated the firm support of the Turkish people for the reforms implemented in the country under your leadership. Thanks to these reforms, Turkey has overcome more than one challenge and achieved economic success.”

“Georgia gives special importance to further developing its close interstate relations with Turkey and people-to-people contacts. We deeply appreciate your lasting and immense contribution to the promotion of the neighborly and partner relations between Georgia and Turkey. I am convinced that our cooperation will remain successful in the future for the benefit of our countries and the region in general,” the Georgian PM said.
