PM Heads to New York for UN General Assembly

PM Irakli Garibashvili left for UN headquarters in New York, where he will address UN General Assembly on September 26 and hold series of bilateral meetings.

On September 23 he will address climate summit and will hold meetings with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Latvian President Andris Bērziņš and President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, according to the Georgian PM’s office.

PM Garibashvili also plans meetings with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani; PM of Canada Stephen Harper; outgoing EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy, and Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister Saud Al-Faisal.

The Georgian PM headed to New York after visiting Baku where he attended on September 20 a groundbreaking ceremony of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, which is part of the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project.
