Annual Inflation 4.8% in September

Annual inflation was at 4.8% in September, up from 3.4% in August, mainly driven by increase in prices on food and healthcare, according to figures released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on Friday.

On monthly basis inflation rate stood at 1.2% in September, according to Geostat.

Prices in healthcare rose by 15.2% year-on-year in September. In this group the prices of medical products, appliances and equipment increased by 7.4% y/y and out-patient services by 3.5% y/y.

Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 8.4% y/y in September, mainly attributed to increase of prices on vegetables (27.3%); fruit and grapes (16.9%), and milk, cheese, eggs (12%).
