President Giorgi Margvelashvili has appointed Kakha Kozhoridze as his adviser for justice and human rights issues.

Kozhoridze was head of the Tbilisi-based human rights and legal advocacy group, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), for two years till December, 2014.

President Margvelashvili praised Kozhoridze as “highly qualified” professional and said on January 13 that president’s administration will get “stronger” by this new appointment.

Kozhoridze said that while serving as head of GYLA he had an opportunity of meeting with the President and his team for number of times over various issues.

“I want to stress that we have had shared values and views over many issues related to justice and human rights,” he said on January 13.

In another new appointment, Giorgi Abashishvili, president’s economic adviser, will also serve as deputy chief of presidential administration.
