The Georgian Interior Ministry said three citizens of Bulgaria were arrested while trying to smuggle 6.29 kilo cocaine, worth about USD 2.5 million, into Georgia from Armenia.

The three men, allegedly carrying cocaine in ten packs attached to their bodies, were arrested on January 24 at Ninotsminda border-crossing point between Armenia and Georgia.

“This is unprecedented in Georgia as no such amount of cocaine has ever been seized in Georgia,” said chief of the Georgian patrol police, Davit Tsinaridze, on January 27.
