Annual inflation stood at 1.4% in January, after 2% in December, according to figures released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on February 3.

On monthly basis inflation was 0.2% in January, according to Geostat.

Annual inflation in healthcare was among the highest across all groups of goods and services in January at 7.3%. Prices on alcoholic beverages and cigarettes rose by 6.6% y/y in January and prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.7% y/y.

Prices in transport group declined by 5.9% y/y in January.
