President Margvelashvili said that it is Ukraine’s internal matter and a sovereign right to decide whom to appoint on which official post, but also added that appointing Georgia’s ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, who is wanted by Tbilisi, as Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s adviser, may cause “awkward” situation in bilateral ties. “I respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and I am not going to comment on Ukraine’s internal politics,” Margvelashvili told journalists when asked about Saakashvili’s appointment in Ukraine. “Although I also note that it may cause certain awkward situation,” he added. “I think we will be able not to let fueling of this awkward situation,” he said. |
