Geostat Releases January Foreign Trade Data

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover was USD 651 million in January, a 22% year-on-year increase, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on February 13.

There was a 45% y/y increase in export, which reached USD 177 million in January; imports increased by 15% y/y in January to USD 474 million; trade gap was USD 298 million, a 22.5% y/y decline, according to preliminary data.

Geostat will release detailed figures of foreign trade for January next week.
