Socialists Party Leader Retires

Vakhtang Rcheulishvili resigned from the Socialist party’s chairmanship post. “I leave the politics,” Rcheulishvili told Civil Georgia.

Rcheulishvili and his party was a close ally of Eduard Shevardnadze on the eve of the November 2 parliamentary elections.

Irakli Mindeli replaced Rcheulishvili on the Socialist party’s chairmanship post.

Earlier another ally of Shevardnadze Levan Mamaladze also announced that he quits politics.
