Erosi Kitsmarishvili, owner of the Rustavi 2 television, was elected today as a President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Erosi Kitsmarishvili replaced Guram Akhvlediani, ex-President Shevardnadze’s daughter-in-law’s father.

Chief of the Rustavi 2 television, which played a key role in a bloodless revolution, last November, was the only candidate for the position of the President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce.

Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania attended the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.

“He is a professional and a good businessmen, who has a transparent business. He really played an important role in November events; however this was not a reason of his election as the President of the Chamber of Commerce,” Zurab Zhvania told Imedi TV station.
