Georgia Sends More Troops to Iraq
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 1 Mar.'05 / 11:01

Georgia sent 573 servicemen to Iraq on March 1 to become a part of the coalition forces stationed there.

As a result of this latest boost, the number of Georgian troops in Iraq has increased up to 900; hence has Georgia become one of the most significant contributors to the coalition force in terms of a country's per capita troop deployment.

The new contingent of Georgian troops will be deployed in Baghdad and will serve in the special protection force for the UN Mission in Iraq.
