Through these funds, assistance will be provided to the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Justice Ministry, the U.S. Embassy to Georgia reported. This U.S. assistance will be directed towards the establishment of an information management system and communications infrastructure to enable police officers do their jobs more effectively; assisting the law enforcement agencies to establish anticorruption initiatives; contributing a team of advisors to assist the Georgian government to implement the new Criminal Procedure Code; and providing equipment and training to meet internationally accepted standards. |
