PM Confirms Georgia’s Interest in Iranian Gas Import

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said on April 25, after talks with visiting Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref, that Georgia is interested in constructing a pipeline to import Iranian gas.

He said that Georgia wants to purchase Iranian gas “if the price is acceptable for us.”
 
“We have also discussed the issue of constructing a gas pipeline between Iran and Georgia,” Nogaideli told reporters on April 25.
