MIA Issues Footage of Bush Grenade Suspect's Apartment
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 21 Jul.'05 / 15:42

On July 21 the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued video footage through the Georgian television stations shot in the apartment of Vladimer Arutunian, suspected in the Bush grenade incident.

The footage broadcast by the Georgian television stations shows several hand-grenades, uniforms, a night vision device and several gasmasks, as well as military guidelines. No statement or comment by the Interior Ministry officials followed this footage so no details of what exactly was found in the apartment are known yet.

Reportedly, Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili will convene a news conference later on July 21.

The man who was arrested in a fatal shootout with police late on July 20 was described by the Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili as an “alleged suspect” in throwing a grenade while President Bush was delivering a speech in Tbilisi on May 10.
