Presidents of Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Moldova, Slovenia and Macedonia announced the formation of a Community of Democratic Choice at the forum in Ukrainian capital Kiev on December 2.
Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko said at the forum on Friday that promotion of democratic values, regional stability, and economic prosperity will be the three major priorities of the Community of Democratic Choice. The participants of the forum adopted a declaration reflecting these goals of the alliance, RFE/RL reported.
Delegations from Bulgaria, Poland, Azerbaijan, Hungary, U.S. the Czech Republic, Turkey, Armenia and representatives from the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe and EU also participated in the two-day forum in Kiev.
