Saakashvili: 2006 will Determine a Lot

In his New Year address President Saakashvili described 2005 as a success for the country and said that “a lot will be determined” for Georgia in 2006.

He said that 2005 has seen many positive changes. “In this period our nation has replaced lawlessness with the law, order for chaos,” Saakashvili said in his televised address on December 31.

The President stressed that the 2005 was “a year of great guests” and emphasized on the importance of visit of U.S. President George W. Bush.

He also underlined importance of setting up of Community of Democratic Choice together with Ukraine.

“The aim of this community is the final liberation of the post-imperial world… the final liberation of all Georgia's territory and the restoration of our territorial integrity,” Mikheil Saakashvili said.

He said that lots of challenges are ahead for Georgia. “Our enemy will certainly stage a final battle… [Enemy] is already trying to use every possibility to throw off our country from the right path,” he added.

“But we must not be afraid. W will most certainly be victorious,” the Georgian President said.
