Badri Patarkatsishvili, a business tycoon, has warned that the authorities’ tactic of brushing off tens of thousand protesters calls may trigger “uncontrolled processes.”
“And President Saakashvili and his inner circle will have to assume the responsibility in case of this scenario of events,” he said in a written statement issued on November 6.
Unlike his previous statements, Patarkatsishvili has targeted personally President Saakashvili by using some sharp remarks.
“Saakashvili did not feel shame to say that the people came out at the protest rally as a result of influence from foreign enemies,” Patarkatsishvili said in a reference to Saakashvili’s statement that the opposition leaders were staging protest rallies with support of “Russian oligarch forces.”
Patarkatsishvili also said that statements of this type were heard from some of CIS-member states leaders. “And now we’ve heard it from the Georgian President as well,” he added.
“I offer the President to admit his mistake – acknowledgment of own mistakes is a demonstration of a strength - and hold the parliamentary elections in spring 2008 and the presidential elections – in winter 2009.”
