The nine-party opposition coalition backing presidential candidate Levan Gachechiladze is due to hold a demonstration from January 13 to January 18, according to a notification filed by the bloc with the Tbilisi municipality.
According to the document, Rustaveli Avenue in downtown Tbilisi will be the venue.
January 13 is the deadline for the Central Election Commission (CEC) to announce the final results of the January 5 presidential election.
With results from 3,070 out of 3,512 precincts already posted on the CEC website, the incumbent candidate has slightly over 52% of the vote and Gachechiladze – about 25%. The opposition, however, claims that the results have been manipulated and a run-off is required.
