Leaders of the nine-party opposition coalition “were shocked” by the response made by the authorities to the opposition demands, MP Kakha Kukava of the Conservative Party said.
“Even those who are less radical within the opposition [coalition] were shocked by this response,” MP Kukava told the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB). “This response means that we have received a No to 16 of our 17 demands and on one demand – concerning how majoritarian MPs are elected – there is only a tentative readiness from them to compromise. This document is cynical.”
“The only way to achieve really free and fair parliamentary election is street protest rallies and these rallies will continue unless our demands are met.”
