Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze will lead the National Movement party-list of MP candidates, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava confirmed on March 27.

Meanwhile, Rustavi 2 TV reported on March 27 that MP Davit Kirkitadze, the secretary of the ruling party, might replace Zurab Melikishvili as the governor of Kvemo Kartli region, with Melikishvili set to contest the elections. Kirkitadze declined to comment, saying that the matter “is not for public discussion yet.” It was reported earlier that Kirkitadze wanted to run in his native Chiatura region.
