Georgian, S.Ossetian, Russian Sides, Int’l Observers to Meet in Ergneti
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 22 Apr.'09 / 16:23

The Georgian and South Ossetian sides, as well as representatives from the Russian forces will meet under the facilitation of EU and OSCE monitors on April 23, EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) said on Wednesday.

The meeting, which is planned to take place at 1pm between the Georgian and South Ossetian checkpoints at the Ergneti village on the administrative border, will be the first of this kind in frames of the Incident Prevention Mechanism agreed by all the sides during the recent round of talks in Geneva on February 18.

The sides agreed in Geneva to hold regular weekly meetings – or more frequently if needed – between structures responsible for security and public order in areas across the administrative border.
