The reading of the verdict in the bribery trial of two Israeli businessmen, which was scheduled on Wednesday, was postponed for April 1.
A court clerk announced in a courtroom in the Tbilisi City Court on Wednesday, that the proceedings were delayed because of the judge’s poor health.
The court heard on Monday closing statements from the two defendants – Ron Fuchs and Zeev Frenkiel, both of which have again denied ever offering bribe to Georgian Deputy Finance Minister as claimed by the prosecution; Fuchs said that he was a victim of the Georgian government’s “plot” aimed at forcing him to reject his multi-million claim against Georgia, which he had won in the international arbitration.
