Party List of MP Candidates of Burjanadze’s Democratic Movement

Below is party list of top 20 MP candidates of Democratic Movement, led by ex-speaker of parliament Nino Burjanadze, who are running in the October 8 parliamentary elections under the proportional, party-list system:

  4. Anzor Bitsadze – he is son of Nino Burjanadze;

  6. Nana Devdariani;
  7. Otar Tavartkiladze;
  8. Besik Danelia;
  9. Manana Salukvadze;
  10. Isako Tskipurishvili;
  11. Davit Benidze;
  12. Bakur Bakuradze;
  13. Ketevan Zakareishvili;
  14. Tamar Zurashvili;
  15. Mamuka Achba;
  16. Akaki Kikvadze;
  17. Ketevan Chkareuli;
  18. Davit Aspanidze;
  19. Vasil Kadenets;
  20. Tengiz Chikaberidze;

In Georgia’s mixed electoral system 77 seats in 150-member Parliament are allocated proportionally under the party-list contest among the parties and election blocs, which clear 5% threshold in nationwide popular vote.

Rest of the 73 MPs are elected in 73 single-member districts, known as “majoritarian” mandates; a majoritarian MP candidate has to win over 50% of votes in order to be an outright winner in the first round, otherwise a second round should be held no later than 25 days after the first round.
