Rapper Duo Released on Bail

The Tbilisi Court of Appeals upheld the motion of the defense lawyers and replaced prison sentences for Birja Mafia rapper duo with bail releasing the two men from the courtroom.

Mikheil Mgaloblishvili and Giorgi Keburia will have to pay bails worth GEL 50 000 (USD 20 779) and GEL 20 000 (USD 8 311), respectively.

28-year-old Mikheil Mgaloblishvili (Young Mic) and 21-year-old Giorgi Keburia (Kay-G) were arrested by the police on June 9 on charges of illegal purchase and possession of excess amount of drugs, which they denied, saying that the drugs were planted by the police in response to their recent rap video mocking police.
