Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Arveladze said on April 19 that the government-initiated program on attracting private investment to the healthcare sector is on target. The Economy Ministry has already named the companies to be involved in constructing 70 out of 108 hospitals throughout Georgia.
The Economy Minister also said that USD 95 million would be invested in the healthcare sector within the next two years.
In February the government launched a program, “100 New Hospitals,” envisaging the attraction of private investment for the construction of new hospitals and outpatient clinics throughout Georgia with a total of 7,800 beds by 2009.
