Two Abkhaz civilians were shot dead in the breakaway region’s Gali district on July 6, the Abkhaz news agency, Apsnipress, reported.
The incident occurred in the village of Chuburkhinji in the predominately Georgian-populated Gali district, according to Kristian Bzhaniathe, the Abkhaz leader’s spokesperson.
“Georgian paramilitary groups are fully responsible for the murders,” Bzhania claimed. He said such groups had recently been much more active on the border with Abkhazia.
