Georgian Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze, said on December 25, that it had already been decided “with 99% that the Georgian delegation and I will leave for the United States and sign the treaty on January 4.”
The U.S. Department of State has confirmed having discussions with Georgia on the text of “a new bilateral charter.”
The Department of State said in a press statement on December 23 that the charter will be similar to the one signed by the U.S. and Ukraine on December 19 - Charter on Strategic Partnership.
