PM to Continue Medical Treatment in Germany
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 20 Jan.'09 / 12:42

PM Grigol Mgaloblishvili will have to leave for Germany on January 21 for second time in less than a month for further medical treatment related with kidney problems, his doctors said.

Nika Kipshidze, the head of the Tbilisi Republican Hospital, where the PM spent last few days, said that “it was not an emergency situation.”

“His health condition is satisfactory and there is no need for him to stay in the hospital; so he was discharged from the [Republican] Hospital yesterday at 8pm and he will continue outpatient medical treatment,” Kipshidze said on January 20. “Video conference was held with the German medics on January 19 and it was decided that Mr. Mgaloblishvili will leave for Germany.”

The 35-year-old Prime Minister has spent two week in Germany this month undergoing, as the government announced, “medical examination related a renal problem.” He returned back to work on January 11, but was admitted into the Tbilisi hospital on January 17.
