Georgia has achieved “impressive political and economic development, and I am confident in Georgia’s bright future,” U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said in a statement congratulating Georgia on its Independence Day.
“Georgia is a valued friend and partner of the United States. Today we renew our commitment to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and reaffirm the commitment of the United States to working together to broaden and deepen our partnership. I offer my warmest wishes on this Independence Day for a peaceful and prosperous year to come,” Clinton said.
President Saakashvili said on May 26, that during his lengthy visit to the United States in April, he had once again seen "unconditional and unimaginable" bi-partisan support to Georgia.
"We are now waiting for a very high-level visit from the United States," he said without specifying details.
