Subari Quits Alliance for Georgia
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 31 May.'10 / 23:50

Sozar Subari, ex-public defender, made a formal announcement on May 31 about quitting Alliance for Georgia, a four party coalition in which he was a co-chairman.

Subari in fact has distanced from the coalition a month before making this formal announcement, when he withdrew from the election race. He said on May 31 that he decided to withhold the formal announcement till the elections, as such announcement could have harmed the Alliance's campaign.

Subari said that he had differences with the Alliance's other leaders over various issues related with tactics and added that the coalition had a real chance for a success in the May 30 local elections, "but this chance has been lost."

Commenting on Subari's decision, leader of Alliance for Georgia, Irakli Alasania said: "Sozar has chose his own path."

"There are people who lose faith upon coming across very first obstacle; but real fighters get stronger while encountering obstacles," Alasania told Imedi TV.
