Vashadze, Clinton Meet in Brussels

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels on December 8, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.

The current situation in the region, ongoing reforms in Georgia and NATO integration process were discussed at the meeting, according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry.

“Certainly, we have talked about the relations between Georgia and the Alliance, about what we should do and what is that particular support which we need from our allies in order to reach the Chicago Summit worthily,” Vashadze said in his TV remarks from Brussels.   

He said that they also discussed current developments in the Russian Federation.

Vashadze also noted that he discussed with his American counterpart the necessity of overgrowing bilateral political relations into “closer economic and trade relations.”
