Georgian PM Meets Israeli President
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 24 Jun.'13 / 17:35

Georgian PM Ivanishvili, who is paying a two-day visit to Israel, met President Shimon Peres on June 24.

President Peres told the Georgian PM that Israel “is a friend of Georgia”.

“Traditional relations between Georgia and Israel are good,” he said.

“I know that you are a great friend of the Jewish people… and we appreciate it very much,” the Israeli President said.

“I am sure that your visit is timely and will bear fruits,” he added.

PM Ivanishvili told President Peres: “For me you are not only the President, but you also are an example of wise man.” He also added that Israel and the Jewish people “are special for me, whom I respect especially.”

“I wish the State of Israel to achieve the peace, which it deserves,” Ivanishvili said. “The rest of the world should spare no effort for fostering the process, which would contribute to achieving the peace.”
