Tbilisi 20/19/07.- CEC Chairman Levan Tarkhnishvili visited precinct No 4 located on Agmashenebeli Street No. 99 with media representatives and civil society organizations to explain voting procedures and the purpose of installing video cameras in precincts.
He stated that the video cameras are installed with the sole purpose of reinforcing transparency on elections day and will in no way identify the voters. Two video cameras will be installed: one directed towards the registration table and the other towards the ballot box in order to reinforce rules and procedures adopted by the CEC.
Video cameras will be installed in each precinct of the following main cities: Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Poti, Marneuli, Blnisi, Gori, Akhalkalaki and Zugdidi.
In addition, CEC Training Officer Tamuna Adeishvili made a presentation on voting day procedures. She made a mock voting procedures presentation to show voters and the general public each step and to give them a sense of how elections day will be like.
"The CEC guarantees to each voter that his/her vote will be secret”, stated the Chairman.
